Entry with or without a visa requires at least EUR 14/day for stays up to 30 days, or at least EUR 780 if the stay exceeds 30 days.
- Arrival card
Unless exempt or holding a Latvian-issued visa/residence permit, declaration at eta.gov.lv is required at least 48 hours before entry, including transit.
- Health requirement
Valid Latvia health/repatriation insurance is required, subject to named EU-family and diplomatic/official exceptions.
Entry requires a valid applicable travel document and a right to enter; a declaration does not replace these prerequisites.
Eligible non-EU short-stay travellers have entries, exits or refusals electronically registered in EES, with qualified exemptions.
Short stays use the shared allowance up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the 29 EES countries, including Latvia.
Personal filing applies; legal representatives may file for minors or persons with legal incapacity, including duly authorized persons.
Travel-plan changes require a new declaration; the 48-hour lead time does not apply to the replacement form.
