Conditions
- Passport validity
A passport or travel document is required; the visitor guidance says it should be valid for the whole stay.
- Proof of funds
Visitors must be able to show support for themselves/dependants and return/onward travel funds; another person may provide funding.
- Fee
An ETA application costs GBP 20 and is non-refundable after applying.
For the ETA branch, receive the confirming approval email before travelling.
Each traveller, including babies and children, needs an individual ETA.
ETA lasts two years or until passport expiry, whichever is sooner; that travel-use validity is separate from each six-month stay.
Visitors must show they will leave after the visit and will not live in the UK through frequent or successive visits or make it their main home.
No public funds or UK company/self-employed work except permitted paid engagements; marriage/civil partnership needs its separate route.
ETA application needs the travel passport, email, payment method and face photos; online applications also need a passport photo.
